Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Can we talk about winter? Some people hate it, and some people love it! I LOVE WINTER. However, no one prepared me to be a winter mom.
Although playing with snow with my kids is so much fun, sometimes it can be freezing outside, and the little ones still need to have some fun!
That’s why I am bringing you this super cool Build a Snowman Craft for you to make with your little people on a very cold day.
To make your life super easy, I’ve included two templates! One for coloring and one in color! Choose whatever fits your family the best.
Tip: get bonus points by making some hot cocoa to go along with!
When I was designing this craft, I only thought about building the average Snowman; However, I wanted to bring you something more complete.
When you make a real snowman, you do it with your family.
Right? And not only that but sometimes, you also make more than just one snowman! So… I decided to create a complete Snow Family for your little ones 🙂
Depending on their age, you can choose to do just mom and dad or mom, dad, and child(ren)! Whatever you decide to do. I want you to have FUN!!

Materials
Very simple, I am sure you have them on hand.
- Build The Snowman’s Family Free Printable (Download down below)
- Colors, crayons, or markers if you print the black-and-white version
- Scissors
- Glue
- Blue Card Stock to glue the whole family together
- Washable white kids’ paint and paint brush to paint some snow (Optional)

You will have both options: color and black and white! Print whatever you and your child are in the mood for. I printed the color one.

Step-by-step Tutorial
First, get the Build The Snowman’s Family Free Printable, then color – if you printed the white and black file – and cut all the pieces.
The mom and dad are big and easy to cut; However, the Snow Kids are more tricky. I encourage you to help your little ones to cut some of the pieces.
Once you are done, paint some snow with washable white kids’ paint on blue card stock paper – you can also use your child’s fingertips and then put together the whole Snow Family! Yay 🙂 This is my favorite part 🙂
To fit the whole family, Snow Dad’s and Snow Mom’s bodies must be glued only halfway through, as shown below.

Every project, craft, or activity you do with your child is an opportunity to get close to him/her. I encourage you to take time to teach him little stuff and see what is going through their little brains.
